Water isn't sacred anymore. The river's black with oil and with blood. We can't drink that filth anymore. Bodies buried deep beneath the mud. Water is Life. Sacred lands aren't sacred anymore, when their excavators tear into the Earth. Resting souls can't rest here anymore. Poison ground stripped of all its worth. Water is Life. They'll beat us down swinging black batons. Shoot pepper spray and tear gas in the crowd. Fire rubber bullets at our heads, each wound a scar we'll wear it strong and proud. Boots are on the ground. Water is Life.

Hush your crying, it will be alright I know you're scared, I know it's quite a fright But we must rest and keep our voices low Can't let them hear us, come night we'll have to go They hate the way we look They hate the way we pray They hate the way we love That's why we run away They hate the way we look They hate the way we pray They hate the way we love That's why we run away They hate the way we look They hate the way we pray They hate the way we love That's why we run away Bombs are falling our house is ripped in two. There's nothing left for us to go home to. They don't respect that we have a different way, They want to hurt us, boy, that's why we run away. They hate the way we look They hate the way we pray They hate the way we love That's why we run away They hate the way we look They hate the way we pray They hate the way we love That's why we run away They hate the way we look They hate the way we pray They hate the way we love That's why we run away They've been through Hell to make it to our shores. A taste of freedom and live at peace once more. To give their kids a chance for a better life To laugh and learn and live without constant strife What are you afraid of? You hate the way they look You hate the way they pray You hate the way they love That's why you send them away You hate the way they look You hate the way they pray You hate the way they love That's why you send them away You hate the way they look You hate the way they pray You hate the way they love That's why you send them away Why do you send them away?

Is it Freedom to slap a man in the face he don't look the same way? Is it Freedom to tear down the house he built to have a place to pray? Is it Freedom that lets you sleep at night When you take what you don't own? Is it Freedom that guards the life you've built time you reap what you have sown. I don't know what time it's coming but it's coming on down the line I can feel its rumbles Yeah I can read the signs Is it Truth When you shut down the press to hide what you have done? Is it Truth when your lapdogs spread your lies and real journalists are shunned Is it Truth Just because you won't believe it And scream out that its fake? Is it Truth When you twist the facts? There's far too much at stake. I don't know what time it's coming but it's coming on down the line Oh, I can feel its rumbles yeah, I can read the signs I don't know what time it's coming but it's coming on down the line Oh, I can feel its rumbles yeah, I can read the signs Is it Freedom to slap a man in the face he don't look the same way?

I was screaming with the volume of a thousand unspent breaths silenced by the bed where I dreamt about a hundred deaths A lie is told, so brash, so bold--received as Gospel truth. Our future sold in search of gold, tomorrow's wasted youth. I was marching with the purpose of a thousand unspent steps Joining in the chorus of those he disrespects Our words, a prayer, to our land fair, we stand up for our rights. Breathing in the air, no fear, no scare, we're ready for a fight. Why don't you care? Why don't you care? Why don't you care? Anymore. I was fighting with the anger of a thousand mighty fists Breaking down the door, the plot begins, unwinds and starts to twist. In my blood the heat will rise, surprise our names our on his list. We're fed up with his lies, his cries, its time for handcuffs on his wrists. Why don't you care? Why don't you care? Why don't you care? Anymore.

Cry 03:45
I want to see, I want to feel, I want to hear, I want to kneel. What’s real’s a dream, What’s real’s a scream. Cry for a savior, Cry for a savior. I want to run, escape the sound. Flee myself, nowhere is found. What’s hoped is lost, That coin’s been tossed. Cry for a savior. I want a night, yes just one night, a candle flame, to know what’s right. What’s gone returned, That bridge unburned, Help me my savior.

Slide Away 04:02
Don’t you slide away. Slide softly, swiftly, staring slowly. Say that you will always know me. Please say that you will stay. The life before it, haunts you, breaks you, Know that its the past that makes you. Run away. I don’t see the, reason for it, Can’t believe you think your unfit. Don’t betray. So much to give, you must forgive, there’s a whole long life to live. Please put it down There’s no trying, live or dying, fears seem to be multiplying. Unload that round. Now hold me close, I won’t let go. You can't change what you can't control. Don’t you slide away. Slide softly, swiftly, staring slowly, say that you will always know me. Please say that you will stay. The life before it, haunts you, breaks you, know that its the past that makes you. Run away. I don’t see the reason for it can’t believe, you think your unfit. The life before it, haunts you, breaks you, know that its the past that makes you. So much to give, you must forgive, there’s a whole long life to live Now hold me close, I won’t let go. You can't change what you can't control.

Saint Louis 03:45
Louis was a sinner, but he never was a saint. He had a bleach blonde honey smiling at him, through the Purple Haze Swaying to music, laughing out of time He lost his rhythm long ago, searching for a rhyme. And I can still remember how she looked on the beach Moving through the moonlight, just a little out of reach Cigarette smoke like a halo hanging on her head I'll be damned if I remember a single word she said. You had a good one Louis, but you threw it all away. I'm fighting through her letter, wondering what to say. Did you ever call your Daddy, did you ever settle down? Did you make it to the city, did they throw you out of town? The details fall apart like a cocaine reverie but I'm haunted by the memory of his drunken melody Now I'm choking on the lyrics, and I heard all the songs About habits dying hard, and one more friend that's gone. About habits dying hard, and one more friend is gone.

Little girl don't you forget her face.
Laughing away your tears
when she was the one who felt all the pain.
Little girl never forget her eyes.
Keep them alive inside.
I promise to try, but it's not the same.
Keep your head held high, ride like the wind.
Never look behind, life isn't fair,
That's what you said, so I try not to care.
Little girl don't run away so fast.
I think you forgot to kiss, kiss her goodbye.
Will she see me cry when I stumble and fall?
Does she hear my voice in the night when I call?
Wipe away all your tears, it's gonna be alright.
I fought to be so strong, I guess you knew
I was afraid you'd go away too.
Little girl you've got to forget the past.
And learn to forgive me.
I promise to try, but it feels like a lie.
Don't let memory play games with your mind.
She's a faded smile frozen in time.
I'm still hanging on, but I'm doing it wrong.
Can't kiss her goodbye, but I promise to try.

You're here saying your my best friend, hoping to find a way to tell me you just can't stay. You laughed at the world, I know. Now that the seasons show they tell me your heart it won't mend. We're counting every day only to show we're here for each other. Who needs a reason to stay, when your time comes you'll know. You had lots of dreams, I know. Now its the close of the show. So say your good-byes my friend and hope it all passes by. We're counting every day only to show we're here for each other. Who needs a reason to stay, when your time comes you'll know. You had lots of dreams, I know. Now its the close of the show. So say your good-byes my friend and hope it all passes by, and hope it all passes by.
